Doilies are small ornamental mats, typically made of paper or fabric, and variously used for protecting surfaces or building flowers, in food service presentation, or as clothing ornamentation.

This set of three books focuses on the history, production, and impact, the artistry, symbolism, and tradition, and the decline, adaptation, and continuity of the Doilies of Eastern Europe. Pulling inspiration from the doilies themselves, a very light brown tone for the color scheme, a script for the heading, and imagery of some lace patterns is used to convey the subject matter. Handmade crocheted doily bookmarks are also made and paired with each book.
